We've just about recovered from U.O.X. Play @ BB Plaza Rooftop, which had us heaving away to Malaysian bands like Bunkface, Bittersweet, Laila's Lounge and Butterfingers, and hooting to White Shoes & The Couples Company and The SIGIT from Indonesia.

There's more to come from Malaysia's first collaborative youth mash-up, which lets youth create, share and decide on their own rules of play. This time, U.O.X. Play Electric zooms into Zouk Club in Kuala Lumpur for a party melding dance and rock, with plenty of dance floor action. We speak to 5ft from electro DJs LapSap, who are all geared up to wreck the decks at Zouk come 17 January.

What has LapSap been up to lately?
Nothing much really, as the year is coming to an end for us–'cause Chinese New Year is the real New Year. We are just trying to chill and relax, and wait for a new beginning.

What are you listening to now and what artists do you think will be hot in 2009?
We've been listening to a lot of techno recently; we think that will blow up super big. We think a lot of tracks have been underplayed so we are trying to push those tracks a lot in recent gigs. We hope Popof will gain greater recognition 'cause we think his productions are out of this world, and maybe Brodinski will be super hot! In general, XU's been listening to Devendra Banhart's new band Megapuss and I've been listening to Q-Tip and a lot of [Kanye's] 808's And Heartbreak.

LapSap parties are always big on fashion. What will you be wearing to your parties this year and what do you predict the regulars will be wearing?
We don't really know, haha. Maybe [we'll be] much smarter? Haha...bow ties and suits... As for the crowd, it's really up to them to express themselves. We never really know what they turn up in...

What's your New Year resolution and did you manage to keep yours last year?
Actually, we forgot what it was already. We'll let you know next year what our resolution is for this year. :)
